Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: In a bid to curb illegal wildlife trade and protect wild animals, Odisha will set up Special Courts in all 30 districts for the trial of wildlife related cases, officials said on Wednesday.

In a letter to the Principal Secretary of Law department of the State government, Special Officer of the Orissa High Court stated that the Courts of the Chief Judicial Magistrate or Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate will function as the Special Courts for wildlife crime cases.

In an exception to Sundargarh district, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sundargarh and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rourkela will act as Special Courts, the letter stated.
