Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: Odisha will have a new agricultural policy focusing on organic farming. Steps will be taken to increase agricultural production in the State. The government will make all arrangements to export the farmers' produce to foreign markets.
Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo stated this while addressing a workshop, "Advocating Inclusive Agricultural Transformation in Odisha" in Bhubaneswar. He said the State government would soon come up with a new agricultural policy. "Excessive use of chemicals in farming is injurious to health.
Therefore, farmers should be encouraged to take up organic farming. By providing continuous irrigation facilities to the farmers, their production will increase and their income will also increase. This will solve the problem," said the Deputy Chief Minister said.
