Bhubaneswar, Jul 19: The Odisha government has announced the commencement of Kharif paddy procurement from November 1 this year. The purchase will take place within the designated period, keeping in mind the crop maturity timeline to ensure efficient collection.
Farmer registration for the procurement process begins on Saturday. Only farmers who have cultivated Kharif paddy and register themselves within the stipulated timeframe will be eligible to sell their produce. The registration window will remain open until August 20.
Farmers can obtain registration forms from their nearest paddy procurement cooperative societies. Alternatively, they can download the form from the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department's website — www.foododishs.in.
The new application form requires farmers to submit accurate personal details along with comprehensive information about their farmland and crop cultivation.
