Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: Odisha will be an advanced State in technical education by 2036 when we will be celebrating the completion of the 100th year of State formation on language basis.
Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Swain stated this at the 'Argus Education Next-2024, Season 3' conclave organised here today.
"Odisha will be a progressive State in technical education and skill development by 2036," asserted Minister Swain.
The Minister claimed that the Skill Development programme has been going on in a mission mode since it was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015.
Talking about the government's plan, the Minister stated that a centre of excellence would be established for engineering students in the State. The youth of Odisha will be made more capable in the training and research sectors. Language labs will be established in engineering colleges, he said.
The Minister also said skill development centres (SDC) would be set up in each of the 30 districts to enhance competitive spirit in students and ensure quality development in the State.

✨"An atmosphere of competitiveness will be created through a scheme in government colleges. A sense of competitiveness will be instilled in students, mentors, and institutions to ensure imparting of quality education regularly," the Minister stated further.
Swain also stated that plans are afoot to have a language lab. The main purpose is to impart the languages of all nations in the language lab of each engineering college. In addition, we will map the skills of our youth by setting up an SDC in each district. By now, 40 fellows, jointly chosen by Indian School of Business and Tata Strive, have been appointed to map skilling.
Education, Sports, Youth Affairs, and Odia Language and Literature and Culture Minister Suryavanshi Suraj graced the occasion as chief guest. Guests spoke on this year's theme 'Innovation in Education for Better Tomorrow'.
Argus News Editor-in-chief Sanjay Jena welcomed the guests. He hoped that the two youth ministers, who graced the conclave as guests, would take forward Odisha's education development.
