Odisha has stood third from the bottom in providing internet facility to primary schools, while internet has turned to be a basic need of learning.
Odisha government has dismally provided internet to 8.1 percent schools.This has shown the real picture of the BJD government's much claimed transformation.
The indian index report has triggered sharp reactions from the opposition parties.
"The BJD government only makes big claims of transformation. In reality, nothing happens physically. All its claims remains written in documents only,"said an opposition party leader.

✨The leader slammed 5T Chairman VK Pandian's recent 'sleeping in open eyes' remark stating that he should learn data and then make claims. Truth has come to the fore. It is disappointing that Odisha has stood third from the bottom in providing internet to schools after Bihar on the bottom at 5.8% and Mizoram second from bottom at 5.9%.
Delhi and Pondicherry have provided internet facility to 100% schools followed by Lakshadweep 97.4% Kerala 94.6% Gujarat 94.2% Rajsthan 53.5%, Punjab 46.8% and Andhra Pradesh 45%.
Now, the Union government is prioritising internet facility to schools under its Ddigital India program. Special facilities are being provided to ensure internet to schools so that students can get teachings online.
The state government is claiming to set up Modern facilities in all schools under its 5T program. But the reality is what the Indian Index has reported.
