Bhubaneswar, Sep 11: In preparation for the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Speaker Surama Padhy has called an all-party meeting on September 16.

The meeting aims to ensure smooth proceedings and constructive debate during the session, which is scheduled to run from September 18 to 25.

The all-party meeting will bring together leaders from across the political spectrum to discuss the legislative agenda, address procedural concerns, and foster cooperation. The recent sessions have witnessed disruptions and heated exchanges between ruling and opposition members.

The Monsoon Session is expected to cover key issues including state finances, public welfare schemes, and administrative reforms. Lawmakers will also have the opportunity to raise constituency-specific concerns and question ministers on governance matters.

Sources indicate that the Speaker will urge all parties to maintain discipline and prioritize public interest during the session. The meeting will also serve as a platform to finalize the schedule of bills, question hours, and committee reports to be tabled.
