Jajpur, Nov 11: The residents of Darpanagada are on cloud nine as their revered Goddess, Maa Kotrakhi's 'Prana Pratistha' (soul installation) will be conducted today. After the idol of the deity was stolen in January 2021, it was caught by the customs department in Delhi while being smuggled to Hong Kong. 

By the efforts of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the idol was handed over to Odisha Government. The idol reached Darpanagada yesterday amid the blowing of conch. On seeing Maa, Darpanagada residents became teary eyed and a spiritual ambiance prevailed.

The soul installation programme of Maa Kotrakhi was preceded by a procession of devotees. With the chanting of mantras and the customary rituals the soul installation process will be conducted.
