Bhubaneswar, May 29: Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Odisha will conduct house-to-house visits from May 30 to June 28 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise for distribution and collection of forms, officials said.
Training camps for both BLOs and BLO supervisors have already been conducted across all Assembly constituencies to strengthen field-level preparedness and ensure strict adherence to official guidelines during the revision process.
Officials and staff were directed to ensure effective implementation of all SIR-related activities, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) RS Gopalan had stated earlier.
Ahead of the Special Intensive Revision exercise scheduled to begin on May 30, the CEO on May 25 had issued a heatwave advisory aimed at protecting officials and field staff from the prevailing extreme weather conditions.
The advisory has been circulated to all District Election Officers (DEOs), Collectors, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) authorities.

RS Gopalan has advised officials to avoid outdoor work during peak heatwave hours between 12 pm and 3 pm.
According to the advisory, field visits and related activities should preferably be conducted during morning hours from 6 am to 11 am and evening hours from 4 pm to 7 pm. District authorities have also been authorised to modify timings depending on local weather conditions and the intensity of the heatwave.
All personnel, including officers engaged in the exercise, have been instructed to take necessary precautions while carrying out field duties. In the event of any medical emergency, immediate rest, cooling measures, and healthcare assistance have been made mandatory.
