Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: Cold conditions returned to Odisha after a brief gap, with night temperatures falling by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in several parts of the state on Monday.
The drop in minimum temperature has been recorded in southern interior Odisha, north Odisha, northern interior regions and parts of the southern coastal belt. At present, no active weather system is influencing Odisha, and dry weather conditions are prevailing across the state.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s regional centre, there is no likelihood of any significant change in the minimum temperature over the next two days. Thereafter, night temperatures are expected to rise gradually by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.

Our sources from the ground informed that residents in several districts have begun to experience a renewed chill during the late night and early morning hours following the recent dip in temperature.
For the next 24 hours, light fog is likely to occur in parts of the state. In particular, light to moderate fog may be experienced in Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha and Puri districts.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, the maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Weather officials have maintained that conditions remain dry, with no major system currently active over Odisha.
