Cuttack, Nov 16: A retired Principal of a college in Odisha has been sentenced to two years in jail by a Special Vigilance court for demanding and accepting bribe to issue college leaving certificate (CLC) to a student, officials said on Thursday.
Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack today pronounced the jail term to Surendranath Mishra, retired Principal of Biraja Sanskrit Mahavidyalay in Jajpur, and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him, said an official release.
Today , Sri Surendranath Mishra, Ex-Principal (retd.), Biraja Sanskrit Mahavidyalay, #Jajpur, who was charge sheeted by #Odisha #Vigilance in Cuttack TR No.64/2012 for taking bribe, was convicted to 2 yrs jail and fine.

The court further ruled that in default of payment of fine, convicted Former Principal Mishra to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months more for the offence under sections 13(2) READ WITH 13(1)(D) and 7 of the PC Act, 1988, the release added.
