The suspected person has been sent to the isolation room and is being treated.

Micro and ground level action plan to containing bird-flu in the state has been rolled out in full swing asserted The Health Minister 

Mahaling urges people to not get panic over Bird flu, the situation is under control and steps are being taken to curve the flu.

After reports of its outbreak in 2 blocks namely Satyabadi and Pipili in Puri district, the Rapid Response Team (RRT) swung into action. Samples were collected and put for test.

''The government is vigilant and is working in close coordination with the Animal Husbandry department'', said Mahaling.

Amid rumours of a person from Pipili area infected by bird flu after detection of the virus in poultry farms, the Health department issued a statement saying no confirmed case of avian influenza in human beings has been detected from Odisha.
