Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: People in Odisha are in a vestive mood today as the much-awaited 'Deepavali Utsav' has approached with rituals of 'Badabadua Dakaa' amid bursting of crackers and relishment of sweet delicacies.
Besides, Maa Kaali Puja, another important Hindu festival, is also celebrated today across the State.
During the day, people remain busy for 'Pinda Daana' and 'Bada Badua Dakaa' rituals. Deepa lighting and colourful lights illuminate houses during the evening hours.
People also throng Puri to conduct the two important rituals on the 'Baishi Pahacha' (22 steps) of the Shree Jagannath Temple. In view of heavy crowd, the rituals are also conducted on the Bada Danda (Grand Road) aming chanting of Mantras by priests.

✨On this day, people offer 'Pinda' to their forefathers. It is believed that forefathers go to Baikuntha if 'Pinda Daana' is held on the Baishi Pahacha'.
Maa Kali Puja is held at both temporary Mandaps and existing temples. The Kaali Puja celebrations continue to be held for three to five days.
