Odisha Readies for President Murmu’s Two-Day Tour Starting July 14

Cuttack, Jul 2: President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Odisha on a two-day official tour beginning July 14, during which she will attend a series of high-profile academic and cultural events in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
On July 14, the President will grace the 5th convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar as the Chief Guest, where she will address graduating medical students and dignitaries.
The following day, July 15, she will travel to Cuttack to attend the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University, one of Odisha’s most prestigious educational institutions.
Ravenshaw University has announced that during the convocation, 84 undergraduate students will receive gold medals, while six will be honoured as the best graduates. Additionally, 76 postgraduate students will be awarded gold medals, 144 scholars will receive PhD degrees, and one each will be conferred with D.Litt and D.Sc degrees. Four distinguished individuals, including noted academician Bhartruhari Mahtab, will be awarded honorary D.Litt degrees.

President Murmu will also lay the foundation stone for the new Ravenshaw Girls’ High School and attend a literary event organized by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad at the Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. The event will celebrate Odisha’s literary heritage and honour the legacy of Adikabi Sarala Das.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are expected to attend the events alongside several other dignitaries.
The President’s visit underscores her continued engagement with Odisha’s educational and cultural institutions and is expected to draw significant public attention.
