Odisha: Ration Card eKYC Process To End In June, 20L Beneficiaries May Be Excluded

Bhubaneswar, June 5: The Odisha government has announced that the ongoing eKYC verification process for ration cards will conclude in June, with nearly 20 lakh beneficiaries at risk of being excluded if they fail to complete the process.


Food Supply Minister Krushnachandra Patra stated that 95% of beneficiaries have completed eKYC, but those who fail to do so before the deadline will fail to receive the government benefit.


For over 13 years, no new ration cards had been issued, but with the new government in place, 17 lakh applications have already been submitted. Currently, 6 lakh ration cards are being distributed, while 15 lakh more have been approved. The application process is now facilitated both at block offices and Jan Seva Kendras, allowing people to apply online as well.
