Bhubaneswar, May 12, 2025: As the sacred festival of Rath Yatra approaches, preparations are in full swing in Puri to ensure a smooth and secure celebration of the annual chariot procession. With an expected massive influx of devotees, authorities have stepped up security measures, deploying advanced technology and coordinating efforts across multiple agencies.

This year's Rath Yatra, scheduled for June 27, will witness a historic first—the use of drones for crowd and traffic control, marking a significant leap in security management. Coastal security has also been strengthened with the deployment of specialized drone surveillance, ensuring safety along vulnerable maritime routes.

The Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, has been actively reviewing the security arrangements. Central agencies, including the Coast Guard, Indian Navy, and Rapid Protection Force (RPF), are working in coordination to provide seamless protection throughout the event.
