Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: The Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to begin on November 27, and the state police have stepped up security measures to ensure a smooth and incident-free session. The session will be inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu, and in preparation, the Commissionerate Police has implemented strict security protocols in accordance with Bluebook guidelines.
Police Commissioner S Debadatta Singh has personally inspected the arrangements, which include a three-tier security system around the Assembly. 33 police platoons will be deployed along with specialized units such as the Striking Force, STIU, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and the fire department.
Under the supervision of Bhubaneswar DCP, the deployment includes 7 additional DCPs, 23 ACPs, 26 inspectors, and 88 SIs and ASIs. CCTV surveillance has been enhanced across key areas, and five temporary police control rooms have been established to monitor and manage the situation in real-time. A total of 225 officers will be on duty to ensure law and order.

Ahead of the session, the Assembly premises and surrounding areas have been secured with barricades, and Section 163 of BNSS will be enforced in the Lower PMG area. CCTV surveillance will cover the Assembly and adjoining zones, keeping the entire police administration under strict vigilance during the session.
