Jajpur, Apr 20: Three days after the abduction of a five-year-old girl from Thakurmunda bus stand, Odisha Police has successfully rescued the victim from Kachahudi Sahi, Jajpur Road.

According to reports, the victim had gone missing from Thakurmunda bus stand on Friday. After a frantic search, the family members of the girl were unable to trace her. Following this, they lodged a complaint with Thakurmunda police and accordingly police initiated a probe.

After three days of intense search, police found the minor girl in Kachahudi Sahi, Jajpur Road. While the victim was rescued, the accused, identified as Lipu Nayak, was arrested in connection with the case.

The rescue operation was carried out with the assistance of the Jajpur Road Transgender Association's Shanti Sena team, added reports.

Worth mentioning, visual evidence of the abduction was made public by Thakurmunda police, prompting swift action.

Reportedly, authorities have detained Lipu Nayak and his associate for questioning. The incident has sparked outrage among locals, highlighting concerns over child safety and the misuse of identities for criminal activities.
