Odisha Police Bolsters Security Measures To Ensure Peaceful Hanuman Jayanti Celebrations Across State

Bhubaneswar, Apr 13: To ensure smooth Hanuman Jayanti celebrations which coincides with 'Pana Sankranti'—the Odia New Year tomorrow, Odisha Police has implemented comprehensive security measures to maintain law and order across the state.
A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja at the DGP's camp office.
Senior officials, including DGP Y. B Khurania, Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu, and other key police and administrative personnel were present in the meeting.
Special instructions were issued to deploy extensive police forces in sensitive districts, monitoring social media for misinformation, and ensure public safety during processions.
The DGP directed district SPs and senior officers to implement strict measures, including patrolling, surveillance through AI-enabled CCTV cameras, and coordination with local representatives. The focus remains on preventing untoward incidents and ensuring a harmonious celebration.
Reportedly, around 200 platoons of security forces will be deployed across the state to manage the celebrations and ensure public safety.
In addition, 10 platoons of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and three platoons of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) will be stationed in sensitive areas, informed a senior official.
With rising temperatures and the possibility of Kalbaisakhi storms, arrangements have also been made for the well-being of police personnel and the public.
