Bhubaneswar, Dec16: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday addressed the Odisha Pharma Summit 2025, highlighting the State’s vision to emerge as a leading hub for pharmaceuticals and medical technology in eastern India. The summit brought together senior policymakers, industry leaders, domain experts, and key stakeholders for meaningful deliberations on strengthening India’s healthcare manufacturing ecosystem.

 

The summit witnessed an overwhelming industry response, resulting in 69 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and investment intents worth Rs7,043 crore. These commitments are expected to generate over 44,600 employment opportunities, reflecting strong investor confidence in Odisha’s policy framework, infrastructure readiness, and governance.

 

A major highlight was the launch of the Odisha Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Policy 2025, designed to foster innovation, institutional credibility, and investor-friendly governance. The announcement of dedicated Pharma and Medical Devices Parks at Khordha–Nayagarh and Khordha marked a decisive step towards building a globally competitive, innovation-driven, and employment-oriented ecosystem.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasised that the Government of Odisha remains committed to providing a transparent, facilitative, and future-ready environment for industry. He noted that through regulatory reforms, robust industrial infrastructure, skilled workforce development, and strengthened industry–academia collaboration, the State is laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth and quality job creation.

 

Inviting industry leaders and innovators to partner with Odisha, CM Majhi said the State is working collectively to build a resilient healthcare manufacturing ecosystem and realise the vision of a Samruddha and Viksit Odisha. He added that the summit reflects Odisha’s progressive policies and credibility, positioning the State as a preferred destination for pharmaceutical and medical-technology investments.

 

By aligning policy initiatives with infrastructure expansion, Odisha aims to establish itself as a national leader in life sciences, contributing to India’s broader vision of healthcare innovation and global competitiveness.
