New Delhi, June 5: As the Bharatiya Janata Party registered a landslide victory in Odisha in the Lok Sabha election and secured a majority in the State Assembly, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Wednesday that people in the state instilled their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"With the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, the people of Odisha instilled their faith in PM Narendra Modi. BJP won 20 out of 21 seats in Odisha. For the first time, BJP will be forming its government in the state as well," Pradhan told reporters in Delhi.
Pradhan won the Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over 1 lakh votes against BJD's Pranab Prakash Das.
Lok Sabha and Assembly elections were held simultaneously in the State.

✨The BJP secured 78 seats out of 147 Assembly seats, surpassing the Biju Janata Dal's 51 seats.
Pradhan, who is tipped to be a front-runner for the chief minister's post in the BJP government in the State said the victory in the state was a victory of the people.
"This victory is not only the victory of BJP but the victory of 4.5 crore Odiyans. This victory is a great victory for the identity, language, culture and identity of the people of Odisha," Pradhan wrote in a post on X.
He described the victory as a testament to the public's trust in "PM Modi's leadership."
