Ganjam, Mar 21: Odisha Vigilance Department has registered a case against Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Radhadeipur Panchayat office in connection with the misappropriation of government funds.

It has been alleged that around 38 lakh rupees were withdrawn without the knowledge of the Sarpanch, leading to accusations against the PEO.

Based on the complaint, the anti-corruption wing of Berhampur division visited the Radhadeipur Panchayat office under Sanakhemundi Block in Ganjam district.

The team conducted an inquiry regarding the misappropriation of funds and questioned various staff members. The PEO was interrogated and taken into custody. The officials also seized several important documents from the PEO's office.
