Odisha Pavilion Shines at 44th India International Trade Fair, Secures Major Business Deals

Key Points

Odisha Pavilion established numerous commercial connections with major enterprises and institutions during the IITF business period.

A wide range of products, including Goumaya Paints, Elate Crunchies, Koraput Coffee, and Tumba crafts, attracted substantial business interest.

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: The Odisha Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF), running from November 14 to 27 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, has reported remarkable commercial success during the first four days, officials said on Tuesday.

Aligning with the fair’s theme, "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat," the pavilion has successfully forged significant commercial connections with major enterprises, government bodies, and institutions from both India and abroad.

 Strategic Commercial Engagements

The success reflects the synergy between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s calls for "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat," and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s "Odisha Vision 2036," which prioritizes industrialization and investment.

Numerous business-to-business (B2B) interactions have already taken place. Under the MSME Department, Bargarh-based Goumaya Paints held promising discussions with the Tripura Industries Department, Arihant Paints (Haryana), and two New Delhi-based enterprises.

Similarly, Odisha Rajya Talaguda Samabaya Sangha engaged with Delhi-based businesses, while Berhampur’s Elate Crunchies held talks with organizations like the Airports Authority of India and Ashoka Hotel.

Showcasing Indigenous Excellence

The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment saw the Jashipur Farmers Producers Committee of Mayurbhanj interact with representatives from Kerala. ORMAS-supported groups also made a mark, with Rayagada’s Prerana Self-Help Group, which specializes in Tumba crafts, discussing opportunities with Rudrashil Products of New Delhi.

The diverse array of products, including handlooms, paddy craft, Saura and Gond tribal paintings, Koraput coffee, and items from women self-help groups (SHGs) under Mission Shakti and ORMAS, drew attention from traders across participating states and countries.

 High-Level Visits Boost Prospects

The pavilion received high-profile attention, significantly enhancing the perception of Odisha-made products. While Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister  Pravati Parida inaugurated the pavilion, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo visited to highlight Odisha's potential in the Power and Agriculture sectors.

Notable visitors, including Tripura’s Minister of Industries & Commerce Santana Chakma and Manipur’s Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Bajpayee, also engaged in dialogues to strengthen commercial ties with their respective states.

The high-quality assistance provided by officials in charge has been credited with streamlining the process of creating new commercial partnerships focused on Odisha’s high-potential agricultural and handicraft products.
