Bhubaneswar, May 21: The Odisha State Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-elections to 43 Sarpanch and 272 Ward Member positions across various blocks and panchayats.

The official notification will be issued tomorrow at 10 AM in the respective blocks, panchayats, and designated wards.

According to notification issued by the State Election Commission, candidates can submit their nomination papers from May 26 to May 31 between 11 AM and 3 PM. 

Sarpanch candidates must file their nominations at the Block Office, while Ward Member candidates will submit theirs at the Panchayat Office. The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on June 2, followed by the publication of the list of eligible candidates, the notification read.

Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations can do so until June 4 at 3 PM, after which the final candidate list will be published at the Panchayat Office, it further stated.

Polling will be conducted on June 23 from 7 AM to 1 PM at designated voting centers. The vote counting will take place on June 24 from 8 AM at the Block Office, it added.
