Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: The Directorate of Elementary Education has issued strict instructions to District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to ensure timely disbursement of pensions to retired employees.
The directive comes in response to growing complaints from pensioners and family pensioners about delays and procedural hurdles in receiving their benefits.
According to the order, temporary pensions cannot be
extended beyond six months. Therefore, it is mandatory that on the day of

✨Reports from various regions revealed that pensioners often face difficulties in submitting final pension papers, receiving drawl details after sanction, and accessing other pension-related facilities. To address these concerns, the Director has instructed officials to hold discussions and resolve all issues related to pension cases promptly.
The directive further mandates that meetings with officers and staff be conducted in phases during the current week to ensure immediate compliance with the guidelines.
The move is aimed at streamlining pension processes, reducing bureaucratic delays, and safeguarding the rights of retired employees.
Officials have been warned that failure to adhere to the instructions will be viewed seriously. The government’s focus remains on ensuring that retired employees receive their rightful benefits without unnecessary hardship.
By tightening monitoring and accountability, the Directorate
hopes to bring transparency and efficiency to pension disbursement, thereby
restoring confidence among retirees and their families.
