Odisha: Online Applications For New Ration Cards Begins Today

Bhubaneswar, Mar 1: From today onwards, the state government enabled the online portal facility to new beneficiaries of the ration cards. After a thorough survey, the eligible applicants will be included in the scheme, said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
The announcement was made on Friday after a review meeting in the circuit house in Sambalpur.
While 92 per cent of the e-KYC process has been completed in the district, the whole procedure will conclude by March end, said the Minister.
The Minister further stated that the left out beneficiaries will get their names enrolled and a large number of ineligible or ghost ration cards will be cancelled.
Among others, MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, former Rengali MP Nauri Nayak, Sambalpur Collector Sidheswar Baliram Bandor were present in the meeting.
