Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: In a barbaric incident, a minor boy was stabbed to death by miscreant in Gada Sahi of Benapanjuri under Jatni police station in Khordha district last evening.

The deceased student has been identified as the Swarup Palatasingh.

As per reports, the student was attacked when he was studying in a room on the ground floor of his house. The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

As a result of the attack he sustained critical injury in his chest and hand. The miscreant had stabbed at many places of the boy. 

Reportedly, the miscreant who attacked Swarup has been identified as a student of Swarup's father, who is a school teacher. 

On being informed, local police rushed to the spot. A case has been initiated in this connection while one accused along with the weapon nabbedby the police. 

Detailed investigation into the matter is underway.
