According to weather experts, mercury levels could climb by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days, pushing temperatures beyond 44°C in some regions. Coastal Odisha and its neighboring districts—including Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati—have been placed on alert due to worsening heat conditions.
Meanwhile, the regional meteorological center has hinted at possible relief in the form of thunderstorms and moderate rain in select areas within the next 24 hours. However, experts warn that high humidity will continue to aggravate discomfort.
