Bhubaneswar, Sep 3: In a proactive move to address rising suicide cases across the state, the Odisha government has announced a statewide awareness campaign titled ‘Jeevan Zindabad’, set to begin on September 10. The initiative aims to promote mental well-being and prevent suicides, especially among youth.
The campaign is being spearheaded by the Department of Sports and Youth Services, in collaboration with the Higher Education Department, Home Department, and the Women and Child Development Department. It will be conducted across all district headquarters, targeting students and young adults.
Over 70 artists will participate in the campaign, using creative performances to engage and educate the public. Schools, colleges, and youth groups will be actively involved in the program, which will include workshops, cultural events, and interactive sessions.

✨A high-level meeting chaired by Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj was held at Lok Seva Bhawan to finalize the campaign roadmap. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and other senior officials.
The campaign comes in response to a concerning rise in suicide cases reported across Odisha in recent months. Officials emphasized the need for collective action and community engagement to address mental health challenges and build resilience among vulnerable groups.
