Health officials have traced the source of the infection to contaminated water from a village well, prompting its immediate closure and repeated blood sample testing of residents.

Despite early interventions, the situation has worsened, with the infection now spreading to the nearby Kshiripada village. Both children and adults have tested positive, and health teams are moving door-to-door to monitor the spread.


While awareness campaigns are underway, villagers have expressed unhappiness over the authorities' dismal action.
