Bhubaneswar, July 31: In a significant step toward ensuring safer and more inclusive workplaces, the Government of Odisha conducted a State-Level Sensitization-cum-Capacity Building Training on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act). The training was held at the State Institute for Women and Children, Bhubaneswar, and brought together key stakeholders from across the state.
The programme was inaugurated by the Additional Secretary of the Women Empowerment and Advocacy Section, who underscored the importance of robust institutional mechanisms to prevent workplace harassment. The training aimed to equip Master Trainers with the knowledge and tools necessary to educate Internal Committee (IC) members in their respective districts, ensuring effective implementation of the PoSH Act.
Participants included Sub-Collectors, Deputy Collectors, Project Officers, and IC/LC members from all 30 districts of Odisha. The day-long interactive sessions were facilitated by Ms. Anuja Gulati, Programme Management Specialist at UNFPA, alongside State Master Trainers. The sessions covered key provisions of the PoSH Act, best practices for grievance redressal, and strategies for fostering respectful work environments.
