Bhubaneswar, July 25 — In a landmark move to position Odisha as a national textile powerhouse, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the first edition of ‘ODISHA TEX 2025’, the state’s flagship textile investment summit, at the State Convention Centre on Friday.
The Chief Minister also launched six new textile parks in Balangir, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Ganjam districts, aiming to boost Odisha's textile industry and employment generation.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Majhi emphasized the state's commitment to fostering economic resilience and empowering rural communities. “These parks will be the engines of inclusive development, giving a platform for local talent to thrive and contributing to Odisha’s economic vitality,” he said.
The State government anticipates the creation of 25,000 direct and indirect jobs, spanning skilled labor, management, logistics, and ancillary services. The initiative is part of a broader industrial development roadmap that aims to position Odisha as a hub for sustainable textile production.

✨The CM also unveiled a 1,000-bed workers’ hostel in Khordha, aimed at improving living conditions for laborers and supporting the growing industrial workforce. The hostel features essential amenities such as medical facilities, canteens, and recreation centers — improving the quality of life for the industrial workforce.
On his part, Industries Minister Sampad Swain said, “ODISHA TEX 2025 is not just an event—it’s a mission to transform Odisha into the textile capital of India by 2030.”
During the summit, the Odisha government signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with national and international investors, unlocking Rs 10,000 crore in investments and paving the way for 25,000 new jobs in the textile sector.
The event drew over 300 delegates from major textile hubs including Tirupur, Bengaluru, Surat, NCR, Punjab, and West Bengal.
