Viksit Bharat / Odisha, Gujarat Explore Industrial Cooperation Ahead of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2027

Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Odisha’s established minerals, metals and aluminium industries could find new opportunities in Gujarat’s semiconductor, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors, as the two States explore closer industrial cooperation ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027, officials said on Saturday.

The possibilities were discussed at a roadshow held at Vivanta in Bhubaneswar, which brought together industry representatives and government officials from both States. The event focused on investment opportunities, technology partnerships and business cooperation.

Complementary strengths

Gujarat Minister of State for Industries and MSMEs Jayram Gamit and Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department Secretary Lochan Sehra held meetings with representatives of companies and institutions before the roadshow. The discussions aimed to identify avenues for Odisha’s businesses and institutions to engage with Gujarat.

Addressing the gathering, Gamit said Odisha had emerged as a leading centre for minerals, metals and aluminium, while Gujarat offered strengths in industrial infrastructure, ports, semiconductors, renewable energy and global connectivity. He said cooperation between the two States could create opportunities for innovation, employment and shared prosperity.

According to the Gujarat government, the State accounts for 17 per cent of India’s manufacturing output and 25 per cent of its merchandise exports.

Summit outreach

The roadshow highlighted the potential for connecting Odisha’s industrial base with Gujarat’s expanding semiconductor, advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors. A presentation on VGGS 2027 was made by Sehra, followed by a screening showcasing Gujarat’s semiconductor ecosystem, textiles and renewable energy sector.

Industry representatives also shared their experiences and perspectives on business opportunities and industrial development in Odisha.

The 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, 2027, under the theme “Viksit Gujarat – Shaping Global Future.”

The Gujarat government has invited businesses, start-ups and industry institutions from Odisha to participate in the summit and explore partnerships that could strengthen industrial cooperation and inter-State supply chains.
