“Plans are underway to separate investigative teams from law-and-order units to reduce pressure on officers and improve efficiency,” said Harichandan. In the initial phase, vacant police posts will be filled to strengthen manpower.

Addressing the recent controversy surrounding the escape of two inmates from Cuttack’s Choudwar Circle Jail, Minister Harichandan condemned the dispute between the former jailer and the senior superintendent as “highly deplorable.” He assured that the Home Department will soon resolve the matter and take necessary corrective measures.

He stressed that the fight against organized crime is a long-term mission, and the administration will continue to pursue it relentlessly.
