Education / Odisha Govt to Supply Corrected Textbooks to Schools
Key Points
Bhubaneswar, Jun 29: The Odisha government has decided to supply corrected versions of school textbooks to classrooms across the state after widespread criticism over factual and grammatical errors in newly introduced editions for the 2026 27 academic session, officials said on Monday.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said that revised textbooks would be distributed to all government run schools to ensure students are taught accurate content. “Whatever errors were found in the textbooks have been taken seriously. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi constituted an inquiry committee, and action has been taken against those found responsible for the negligence,” Gond told reporters.
Minister Gond clarified that faulty textbooks already distributed would not be recalled. Instead, corrected editions and printed correction sheets would be supplied through district education officers and headmasters. Teachers have been directed to use only the revised versions in classrooms.
