Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: The Odisha Excise Department is likely to set up 25 new excise stations to check illegal liquor sale across the state.

Three excise stations will come up in Ganjam, Balasore and Berhampur. Two excise stations in Cuttack, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh and one each in Jagatsinghpur Bhadrak, Jajpur, Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Rourkela, said Joint Excise Commissioner Somanath Majhi in a letter to Superintendent of Excise of 16 districts.

A meeting regarding the same will be held at the Directorate of Excise on September 4 to discuss the matter in detail.
