Bhubaneswar, May 31: As the holy Rath Yatra 2025 approaches, Odisha’s Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena has announced special bus services to facilitate smooth travel for devotees heading to Puri.

The initiative aims to ensure that no pilgrim is left behind, with buses operating from major transport hubs such as Malatipatpur and Baramunda.

The minister assured that the same arrangements as last year will be maintained, ensuring efficient transport management. Special buses will be stationed at key locations, ready to accommodate the large influx of devotees.

Additionally, strict hygiene measures have been mandated, including ample drinking water and mandatory masks for passengers.

The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has been directed to prepare buses in advance, ensuring adequate seating capacity and safety measures. The government is also considering deploying additional buses based on demand, ensuring uninterrupted travel during the festival.

With millions of devotees expected to visit Puri, the transport department is working closely with local authorities to streamline operations and prevent congestion. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to providing accessible and comfortable travel for all pilgrims.

As preparations continue, devotees are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and utilize the special bus services for a hassle-free experience during the sacred festival.
