Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: The BJP government in Odisha will make recruitments to 1.5 lakh government-sanctioned posts in five years, Govorner Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati said in his address to the Odisha Legislative Assembly's Budget Session that commenced today.

Highlighting the State government's various achievements and keen efforts to empower the youth, the governor said his government has been focusing on empowering women and youth.

While many welfare schemes have already been initiated, the government has started efforts to make recruitment to 1.5 lakh government posts, he said. In 2024-25, till date, as many as 24,000 governments have been filled.

It has been targeted to fill 65,000 government posts In the next two years and 1.5 lakh posts in five years. The Governor further said 50,000 jobs will be created in the textile sector in the next two years.

Similarly, 50,000 jobs will be created in IT/ITES sectors in the next five years, said Governor Kambhampati.
