Bhubaneswar, July 31: The BJP government in Odisha will soon deliver subsidised food articles at the doorstep of ration card holders who are unable to come to panchayat offices in the State.
Replying to a question at the Assembly, Odisha's Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra on Wednesday said, "The State Government is making necessary arrangements to deliver ration at doorsteps of those who are unable to come to the panchayat office."
"An App will be introduced for elderly beneficiaries who are unable to authenticate their biometrics for ration," he added.
The Minister also said that there are more than 16 lakh ghost ration card holders under the food security scheme across the State.
