Bhubaneswar: In a major initiative to support citizens traveling to the state capital, the Odisha government has announced plans to establish dedicated guest houses for residents from each district. The project aims to alleviate accommodation challenges faced by individuals visiting for healthcare, education, or government-related work.

Each district will have a designated guest house in Bhubaneswar, equipped with 100 rooms to ensure comfortable lodging. With 30 districts in Odisha, the total capacity will reach 3,000 rooms. The guest houses will be named after their respective districts, fostering a sense of local identity and belonging.

Officials believe this initiative will significantly reduce the financial burden on travelers who currently rely on hotels or private accommodations. By offering affordable lodging, the government hopes to enhance accessibility to essential services in the capital.

The project is expected to commence soon, with construction plans being developed to ensure timely implementation.
