Odisha Govt Launches ‘AWESOME’ App To Empower Anganwadi Services

Key Points

Odisha launches ‘AWESOME’ App to digitize Anganwadi operations statewide.

Citizens and parents can submit feedback directly through the App.

\Bhubaneswar, July 30: In a major step toward strengthening grassroots child and maternal welfare, the Odisha government on Wednesday launched the ‘AWESOME’ app ( Anganwadi Welfare and Services Oversight Monitoring Everywhere). This digital initiative aims to streamline operations at Anganwadi Centres and enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement.

The app will enable Anganwadi workers to manage all their daily tasks digitally, including tracking infrastructure, accessing essential resources, and maintaining service records. It also allows parents and community members to submit real-time feedback, fostering a participatory approach to early childhood care.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, speaking at the launch event held at Lok Seva Bhavan Convention Centre, emphasized the importance of digital tools in improving service delivery. “This app will not only empower our Anganwadi workers but also ensure that citizens have a voice in shaping the quality of care provided,” she said.

To support the development and implementation of the app, the Department of Women and Child Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD). The collaboration aims to ensure technical support and capacity building for effective rollout.

The app will maintain comprehensive data on Anganwadi infrastructure, including housing, sanitation, and electricity. It is expected to transform existing centres into fully functional empowerment hubs. As part of the initiative, the government will also run an awareness campaign titled Asa Buliba Anganwadi from August 1 to 11, encouraging citizens to visit centres and provide feedback via the app.

This move marks a significant leap toward inclusive, data-driven governance in early childhood and maternal welfare programs across Odisha.
