The scheme is designed to reduce dependence on middlemen and
ensure that farmers receive fair compensation for their produce. By combining
procurement support with input assistance, the government aims to enhance
productivity and improve rural livelihoods.
Officials said the move reflects Odisha’s broader vision of
empowering farmers and modernizing agriculture, while also aligning with
national goals of food security and self-reliance.
