Bhubaneswar, Mar 13: The Odisha government has proposed to take up 31 major and medium irrigation projects, 27 barrage projects, 72 instream storage projects, and 79 minor irrigation projects in the state.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling informed the assembly. The Minister said Rs 52,290 crore has been earmarked for 31 major and medium irrigation projects, Rs 13,600 crore for 27 barrages, Rs 158 crore for 72 stream storages, and Rs 1,192 crore for 79 minor irrigation projects.

✨All these new projects will be funded from Central and State revenue funds, he said.
He further informed that 15 major, 56 medium, and 4002 minor irrigation projects have been completed in the state. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling stated this while replying to a starred question by BJD MLA Prasanna Acharya.
