Bhubaneswar, Jan 1: The Odisha government on Thursday announced a major reshuffle of senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, reassigning key departmental responsibilities following the appointment of Anu Garg, a 1991-batch IAS officer, as the state’s new Chief Secretary.


The General Administration and Public Grievances (GA-PG) department issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, Satyabrata Sahu (RR-1991), Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, who also holds charge of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, has been appointed as Member, Board of Revenue, Odisha, Cuttack.

 

Deoranjan Kumar Singh (RR-1993), Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, has been appointed as Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary, Planning & Convergence Department. He will continue to hold additional charge of Revenue & Disaster Management, along with responsibilities as Member, Board of Revenue, Special Relief Commissioner, Managing Director of Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, and Chairman of Odisha Forest Development Corporation.

Hemant Sharma (RR-1995), Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, with additional charge of I&PR Department and Chairman, IPICOL, has been allowed to continue with additional charge of the Home Department.

 

Shubha Sarma (RR-1999), Principal Secretary, Women & Child Development Department, will also remain in charge of the Water Resources Department. Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma (RR-1999), Principal Secretary, Excise Department, CMD of OPTCL, and Chairman of OSBCL, will continue with additional charge of Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department.

 

Rajesh Prabhakar Patil (RR-2005), Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Co-operation Department, Chairman of OSWC, and Special Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, will also remain in charge of Special Relief Commissioner and Managing Director of Odisha State Disaster Management Authority.

 

Madhumita Rath (SCS-2015), Additional Secretary, School & Mass Education Department, has been appointed as Collector and District Magistrate of Nayagarh. Akshay Sunil Agrawal (RR-2019), previously Collector and District Magistrate of Nayagarh, has been transferred and appointed as Collector and District Magistrate of Gajapati.
