Odisha Govt Confirms Plus 3 Classes to Begin on July 15

Key Points
Odisha government accelerates Plus 3 admissions, ensuring seat allocation in June and classes starting on July 15.
Bhubaneswar, May 21: The Odisha government has announced that Plus 3 first-year classes will commence on July 15, ensuring a timely academic schedule for students.
Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj confirmed that the admission process began on April 16 and will continue until June 1.
The application deadline was previously set for May 20. However, after concerns raised by students and parents due to delay in CHSE Class XII results, which was announced on Wednesday, the deadline was extended until June 1.
Streamlined Admission Process
For the first time, the government has initiated admissions before the Plus 2 (Class XII) results are published, aiming to avoid delays that affected last year’s academic calendar.
In 2024, the admission process extended until December, causing disruptions in the first semester. To prevent such setbacks, the government has accelerated the admission timeline, ensuring that seat allocation is completed in June and classes begin on July 15.
Concerns Over College Elections
The Higher Education Department is also considering the impact of college elections on the academic schedule. Officials are working to complete all admission formalities on time, ensuring that students can focus on their studies without administrative delays.
Minister Suraj emphasised that the Plus 3 admission process will remain open until June 1, allowing students ample time to upload their mark sheets and complete formalities. The government aims to streamline the process and minimise disruptions, ensuring a smooth transition for new students.
