Rourkela, Jan 11: The Odisha government is closely monitoring the situation following an aircraft accident near Jalda in Rourkela in Sundargarh district, Transport Secretary Usha Padhee said Sunday.
Padhee visited the accident site and reviewed rescue efforts, medical response and safety measures in coordination with district officials, police and concerned departments, officials said.
She said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is personally monitoring the developments and has directed authorities to ensure prompt medical care, logistical support and coordinated administrative action for those affected.
“All necessary arrangements have been made on priority,” Padhee said.
Officials said a two-member medical team has been deputed to continuously monitor the condition of the injured, while emergency medical facilities have been activated at the district level.
Two injured passengers, identified as Savita Agrawal and Sunil Agrawal, were airlifted to Mumbai for advanced treatment at their request, officials said. Their condition is stable and there is no threat to life.
Teams from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have been facilitated to inspect the site and conduct an investigation, officials said.

The state government said it remains in close coordination with all concerned agencies and is ensuring compliance with safety protocols as the situation continues to be monitored.
