Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: In a significant push to industrial growth and employment, the Odisha government on Wednesday approved 18 investment proposals worth Rs 4,515 crore, expected to generate over 8,200 jobs across the state.
The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, gave nod to projects spanning eight districts: Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.

Among the major approvals, Konark Ispat Ltd received clearance to expand its steel plant in Jharsuguda with an investment of Rs 990 crore. The move is expected to strengthen Odisha’s position as a steel manufacturing hub.

The green energy and hydrogen sector saw a notable boost with three projects worth Rs 1,123 crore. This includes a Rs 750 crore proposal to set up a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing unit in Ganjam district, signaling the state’s commitment to sustainable development.
Khurda district will host a Rs 501 crore hyperscale data center, enhancing Odisha’s digital infrastructure. Additionally, the district will see the establishment of an IMFL bottling unit worth Rs 300 crore.
Other key projects include a Rs 211 crore five-star hotel in Paradip, aimed at boosting tourism and hospitality, and a Rs 350 crore recycling unit in Angul, contributing to circular economy initiatives.
