Viksit Odisha / Odisha Govt Clears 14 Industrial Projects Worth Rs2,780 Crore; 14,104 Jobs to be Created

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: The Odisha government has approved 14 major industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs2,780.10 crore, expected to generate 14,104 jobs across multiple districts, officials said on Saturday.
The decision was taken at the 149th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg here on last evening.
The cleared proposals span diverse sectors including food processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), steel, iron and ferro alloys, downstream steel manufacturing, and infrastructure. Officials said the approvals reflect Odisha’s commitment to balanced industrial growth under the vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036.
Among the key projects is a Rs500 crore snacks and baked products manufacturing facility in Khordha/Cuttack, which will create 800 jobs. In the textiles and apparel sector, a readymade garment unit for knitted baby and kids wear will be set up in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs251.45 crore, generating 5,104 jobs.

Other projects across agro‑processing, steel downstream, and infrastructure will further diversify the state’s industrial base. The projects are spread across Anugola, Balangir, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kendujhar, Khordha, Nayagarh, Nuapada, and Sundargarh, ensuring wide geographical coverage.
Officials said the latest approvals reaffirm Odisha’s focus on attracting investments, promoting value addition, and creating employment opportunities. The state government emphasized that the projects align with its long‑term vision of inclusive and sustainable growth under Samruddha Odisha 2036.
