Viksit Bharat / Odisha Governor Urges BPUT Graduates to Become Job Creators and Innovators

Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on
Thursday urged graduating students of Biju Patnaik University of Technology
(BPUT), Rourkela, to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship, transforming
themselves into job creators rather than job seekers. He was addressing the
university’s 12th Convocation Ceremony, where hundreds of students received
their degrees.
Call for Innovation
Dr. Kambhampati emphasized that the world is being reshaped by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energy, biotechnology, and space exploration. He noted that India is not a mere spectator but a leader in this transformation, with initiatives like Digital India, Startup India, and Make in India opening vast opportunities for engineers to innovate and lead.

Highlighting India’s rise as the third-largest startup
ecosystem globally, the Governor pointed to the success of young entrepreneurs
in clean energy, healthcare technology, space research, and sustainable
materials. He urged graduates to carry forward the spirit of innovation
nurtured at BPUT and contribute to building enterprises that serve both
humanity and the environment

Odisha’s Technological Progress

✨Dr. Kambhampati praised Odisha’s steady emergence as a hub of technological progress, citing new investments in semiconductors, renewable energy, defence manufacturing, and digital infrastructure. He reminded students that they have a vital role in shaping a Viksit Odisha that contributes to a Viksit Bharat by 2047. True success, he said, lies not in wealth or titles but in the value added to others’ lives through integrity, empathy, and service.
University’s Role
The Governor lauded BPUT’s adoption of the National
Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its focus on industry collaboration, innovation
cells, and incubation centres. These initiatives, he said, are preparing
students for leadership in research, development, and social transformation.
Professor S.C. Sharma, former Director of NAAC and currently
Advisor at Jain University, also addressed the convocation. BPUT
Vice-Chancellor Professor Amiya Kumar Rath delivered the welcome address.
