Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: Odisha Governor Hari Bahu Kambhampati has outlined the state government’s crucial priorities while addressing the house at the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, which commenced Thursday.

Highlighting the State government's various achievements and keen efforts to empower the youth, the Governor said his government has been focusing on empowering women and youth as well other areas of development.

The launch of ‘Kamadhenu Scheme’ focussing on agricultural investments and nutritional aid
Launch of ‘Subhadra Yojana’ benefitted more than a crore of women
The Odisha Govt targets 1.5 lakh recruitments to government posts in five years with 65,000 recruitments in the next two years. In 2024-25, till date, as many as 24,000 governments have been filled
In the textile sector, the Govt targets to recruit 50,000 people in two years, while in the IT sector, as many as 50,000 people to be recruited in five years
As many as 400 buses will be in operation across the state under ‘Pradhan Mantri e-Bus’ scheme
With an aim to manage acute malnutrition of children, two new schemes – ‘Purna Aahara’ & ‘Aama Kuni Pila’ -- will be launched
As many as 199 High Schools have been turned into Upper Medium Schools to reduce the dropout rate
The Odisha Govt is aiming to provide drinking water supply through pipes in rural areas by 2026. In addition, the state aims for regular piped 24/7 water supply across 115 cities by 2026

On a priority basis, the state Govt will encourage advanced education, research and innovation
In an investment boost, MoUs worth Rs 12.89 lakh crore were signed during the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave.
