Bhubaneswar, Apr 18: The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department of Odisha has announced plans to issue new ration cards to eligible beneficiaries across the state.
In a directive to all district Collectors, the department has set an ambitious deadline of April 22 for the preparation of these ration cards.
The initiative will be carried out through dedicated programs in both block and urban areas, said the Department in the letter.
As per the directive, authorities have been instructed to identify eligible beneficiaries through an e-KYC verification process. This will help eliminate ineligible recipients and ensure that the benefits reach the deserving individuals. The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department is actively overseeing the process to ensure its timely completion.
This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to streamline the distribution process and enhance transparency.
